As an artist, I draw inspiration from my interests in science, art and culture, observing the world through a vibrant and dynamic lens. My artistic approach is deeply influenced by the interplay of elements in my surroundings, where I seek the relationships between objects and spaces through a spectrum of colour.
Alongside painting, I have discovered another parallel universe – felt. This is an extraordinary material: natural, warm, and very pliable. I create various products from wool fibres and silk, including clothing, wall hangings, and accessories.
Amazing Math
Felt is a non-woven material served humans throughout their lives as clothing, footwear, furnishings for their homes, and blankets for horses.
The history of felting is also connected to the legend of the Great Flood, where animals were gathered into Noah's Ark. Their wool fell directly onto the floor they walked on. Clumps of wool would often get caught under the animals' hooves, and when the Flood, the surface of the floor was covered with the first felt carpet.
I studied feltmaking process in Russia, and I feel that there is the whole world made of wool fibers and silk. Many amazing things can be made - clothing, footwear, accessories and a lot of other items.
